Welcome to Our Garden Plot
This is a journal where I record my observations and write the stories I discover in our gardens and any natural space. It is a place to nurture wonder alone, with my family and our community.
I live with my husband, son and rescue dog in a suburb of Maryland, close to mountain and coastal areas and many beautiful parks and gardens. We enjoy hiking and exploring the amazing natural world together. We have a home garden of flowers, organic vegetables, fruits and herbs. Any natural place where we grow and dream together is Our Garden Plot !
This blog began in 2010 when my family had a 20 foot x 25 foot garden in the Howard County Conservancy Community Garden. Our plot was F1 on the garden grid. F1 is the “help” key on the computer. We laughed. We were amateurs and our plot would need lots of help. The first year our garden plot produced more bugs than vegetables, but we learned a lot. The next year, our garden flourished! In 2010 our Plot F1 produced enough organic vegetables for us to eat, can, freeze and donate to our local food bank! I began this online garden journal to keep a record of our gardening joys, successes and failures. In 2014, we gave our Plot F1 to another family waiting to join the Community Garden.
It is my hope that Our Garden Plot blog will inspire you to explore… go outdoors….garden, hike….connect with others….connect with the Creator of all.
Hi Jonna, thank you for visiting my blog -And congratulations on your bountiful garden. I too love organic gardening. We have so many chemicals we are exposed to. It is good to eat clean food. I love to eat from the garden and to learn from others like yourself. Gloria
Hi Jonna, I’m Nadezda. I love the organic gardening too. I try to grow zuccini, carrots, beans, salad without chemistry. Visit my blog too.
